The Manager of Assisted Living directly manages the Assisted Living care & service team and serves as a member of the community's leadership team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Assists with marketing of the accommodations and services to prospective residents and families and developing and implementing activities and support programs. You will also develop, monitor, and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate staffing to meet our service standards and budget, conduct routine rounds of the community, participate in initial and ongoing resident assessments to help identify needs and changes in condition, assist in the development of the Resident Services Plan, participate in regular resident and family meetings, and help conduct new hire training and monthly in-service trainings.
Salary range: $70,000 to 85,000 DOE; Exempt
In this role, you would do the following:
- Oversees the provision of health, emotional, social and spiritual care for residents in the Assisted Living Program;
- Supervises and monitors the work of CNAs, RAs and other AL personnel, including recruiting, hiring, appraising and planning work, maintaining standards, acting on employee problems, recommending discipline or promotion of staff; writes performance evaluations;
- Maintains communication with doctors, laboratory, pharmacy, and resident's family concerning resident care;
- Assesses, reports, and deals with unusual symptoms/emergencies of residents;
- Coordinates with Health and Wellness Manager for medical advice on AL residents, transfers to the Health Center, and on admissions, care and discharge;
- Monitors emergency calls on computer terminal and responds as needed;
- Monitors and provides safety instruction for residents such as fire drills, etc.;
- Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with the facility safety program;
- Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers;
- Answers telephones and assists visitors;
- Attends and in-service training workshops, seminars, and meetings as required;
- Promotes and protects the rights of each resident;
- Performs other related essential duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a health care, social science, or business discipline
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience including supervisory experience working in health care, senior living, or strong service environment; or any equivalent combination of education and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
- RCFE Certification required
- Current CPR certification
